Tenant Spotlight
Kids at Hope:
The Kids at Hope Northwest Regional Training Office is located at the HOPE Center. The Kids at Hope concept began simply in 1993 as an effort to reverse the harmful paradigm from youth at risk to Kids at Hope. Kids at Hope is based upon a concept that states and demonstrates, “All children are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS!” This statement is our mantra and the foundation of all we do.
Kids at Hope is not a program, but a belief system supported by a culture and then enhanced by programs. Kids at Hope does this by rallying entire communities around the asset building model for children by recruiting schools, youth organizations, police and fire departments, businesses, and families with a common framework, to address children’s needs holistically.
Boys & Girls Clubs of South Puget Sound is a Partner Founder of Kids at Hope and has embraced this culture at the Clubs. Other Lakewood organizations to adopt this culture and attend trainings in the Kids at Hope philosophy include: Lakeview Elementary School, Lakewood Police Department, Centro Latino, Safe Streets, Lakewood Family Support Center, Healthy Marriage Fatherhood Program, Korean Women’s Association, Girl Scouts, 4H and Junior Achievement.
By adopting the common belief system that “All children are capable of success, NO EXCEPTIONS!” these organizations have shown vision, foresight and passion for our communities children.
